If you have not yet discovered the TV channel, ARTE then you may want to take a look. ARTE is a European channel, funded by licence fees in France and Germany, but available to Europeans in a number of languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and Italian.
Their latest, two-part documentary is titled “Undressed – A History of Nudism”.
Part one traces the development of the naturism throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in France and Germany, and how the culture grew in different ways and how it was shaped by politics and religion. English subtitles are available.
Part two delves into the way in which the naked body has been portrayed in art and religion, continuing to explore how nudity has been used as a powerful political weapon, turning body-shaming around to body-positivity.
