So at the ripe old age of fifty five, I ventured on my first naturist holiday. I had many reasons to be nervous – brand new experiences, what do I take to wear / not wear, what will the people be like, will I be comfortable or self-conscious?
How wrong I was to be nervous in any way! We arrived at reception to a lovely warm welcome and headed to our room. I had a peek over the balcony to the pool area to see many people unclothed and relaxed.
We headed to the pool. We grabbed the first sun-beds we could find (there were plenty) and simply stripped off. Nobody stared, in fact nobody noticed! It was so liberating – I hate wearing a swimsuit (especially a wet one) so was loving getting out of the pool and drying off quickly in the warm sunshine.
By day three I was wandering around without a care in the world, including a naked walk around the hotel! I can’t get over the freedom of swimming in a gorgeous cold pool in the nude – the best feeling ever!
We made friends – it was surreal just stood chatting to people you have only just met, all without clothes. All the guests were very much of the same mindset – enjoy life, don’t let clothes clog up your fun and respect everyone else with the same views.
I didn’t partake in the activities this time (a minor injury as a perfect excuse!) – one step at a time – but next time I will – not sure my other half has recovered quite yet from his daily Naked Yoga but it will bring many funny and enjoyable memories of this holiday for a while to come!
In summary, this was simply a lovely, relaxing holiday in a fully clothed hotel but where, around the pool area, you could swim and sunbathe naked. All meals were clothed.
I genuinely think every person should give this experience a go – I wish I hadn’t waited so long!
